Getting Started ... Again ...

Well, I don't go to many sites anymore, but wanted to share some of the books I've read over the last 18 months -- take them as you wish and if you want to use this as a forum for discussing or sharing tangents that you were taken on because of what you read -- even better!!

I began the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon in (I think) Jan. 2009 -- and it has changed my standard of books! Well, maybe deeply affected it, for sure! For me, these books have a depth of character, plot, historical accuracy, an authenticity that catches me at odd moments wondering..."What would [fill in character's name] think about this? What would I have done in that situation? How can I find ways to be as creative/loving/committed/alive as these characters make me want to feel?"

I have read some other series, but NONE compare -- Ms. Gabaldon, you have ruined me!
I have enjoyed the Hunger Games series, the Mortal Instruments series, Libba Bray series that begins with A Great & Terrible Beauty, the Orson Scott Card's Shadow Quartet (one of my faves last year!!, and found myself revisiting the audiobooks in the Gabaldon books (Voyager is a personal fave).

But I digress and leave this posting to the digital diary and train that carries my literary loves and musings...
